What we collect

• Searches. The band, city, year and any other clue you type into the finder, so we can find the night and see which bands people look for.
• Site use. Which pages you open and which buttons you tap, how you got to the site (the page or ad you came from), and the kind of device you use. This is tied to a random ID kept in your browser. We store a scrambled form of your IP address, not the address itself.
• Your order. Your email, your name, the name of the person you are giving it to, the night you picked, and the date you need it by.
• What you add to the gift. Notes and memories you write, how old they were, how you know them, the cover words you choose, and how and when you plan to give it (including a phone number or email for them, if you type one).
• Files you upload. A voice message you record, a photo, and a picture for the cover. These are stored with the gift.
• Replies. If the person who gets the gift sends a message back, we keep the text or the audio they send.
• Messages to us. What you send through the contact, "find it for me" and "ask them for me" forms, with your email. For "ask them for me" we also keep the name and contact details you give us for the other person.
• Emails we send you. We keep a copy of each email we send about your order.
• Payments. Handled by our payment company. We never see your full card number. We keep the order amount and a payment reference.

How we use it

To find the night, make and deliver the gift, answer you, and fix problems. We use site-use data to see what works and what breaks. We also limit how fast one IP address can send forms and uploads, to stop abuse.

Who else handles it

• Payments: our payment company.
• Email: our email company sends the emails for us.
• Hosting: the server that runs this site stores the data above.

They get only what they need to do that job. A person on our team reads what you send us.

Your private page

Only people with the link can see it. Search engines are told not to list it. Anyone you send the link to can pass it on, so send it to people you trust.

How long we keep it

We keep your order, your gift and your uploads until you ask us to delete them. We have no automatic delete date today.
