First Concert Gift Ideas

The best first-concert gifts are about the real night: the date, the venue and who opened. Here are 7 ideas, from a replica ticket to the full story of the night. Start by finding the night.

Updated October 28, 2026

1. A replica ticket of the night

A printed copy of a ticket for that show, with the band, venue and date. Good if the real stub got lost. Stubforge sells replica stubs at $9 for one, and less each when you order more. Shipping is extra.

2. A frame for the real stub

If they still have the stub, a small shadow box keeps it safe on a wall or shelf. Some frames hold a poster and a few tickets together. Don't laminate or tape an old stub. Collectors say it lowers the value.

3. A poster of the night

A print with the band, the city and the date in big type. Pick one that uses only words, not band photos or logos, unless it's official merchandise.

4. A concert journal

A book for logging every show they've been to, with room for stubs. Good for someone who still goes to shows. Concert Chronicles logs up to 30 shows and was $13.94 at Target when we looked.

5. The album from that tour on vinyl

The record the band was touring behind that year. Look at the tour name on the night's page in our finder. It often matches the album.

6. Take them to see the band again

If the band still tours, two tickets to a new show is the big version of this gift. Pair it with something from the first night.

7. The story of their first concert

This one is ours. We find the real night and make a private web page for it:

  • The story of the night, written to them by name: the city that year, the tour, the bill.
  • Music from that tour, with which show each recording is from.
  • A cover made for that show, with the band, the venue and the date.
  • Your note at the end.

You send them a private link, or print a card with a QR code. $89. Full refund if we can't find the night.
